YMCA baseball and t-ball leagues are designed to help players learn basic skills such as batting, catching, throwing and the rules of the game. All kids are encouraged to play by getting equal chances to bat, run bases and play in the field. Our coaches emphasize participation, skill-building, sportsmanship, teamwork, fitness, friendship, family involvement and fun.

YMCA youth sports encourage and promote healthy kids, families, and communities by placing a priority on family involvement, healthy competition rather than rivalry, the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and a sense of fair play and mutual respect for others. Parents are encouraged to be more than mere spectators, by contributing their time as volunteer coaches—as well as being their kid’s greatest fan.

Minis

Minis t-ball is the perfect introduction to baseball for kids age 3 to 5! It is an instructional and recreational 8-session youth t-ball program designed for preschoolers to have fun while learning rules and skills of the game. Kids practice the fundamentals of t-ball like throwing and catching the ball, batting off the tee, and in most cases, going the right way around the baseball diamond through fun drills and games. The focus in this program is on inclusion, teamwork, sportsmanship and building confidence.

Minis don’t play official games or keep score, it’s all about fun and learning! All teams are co-ed and led by YMCA staff. This league requires parental involvement to help encourage the most fun and participation. Practices with scrimmages are held once per week. Each player gets a YMCA uniform top to wear on and off the field.
