DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, & GLOBAL PROGRAMS (DIG)

Equity Statement

The Y actively promotes a culture free from bias and injustice. We are dedicated to removing institutional and systemic barriers that result in oppression and racism. We will be accountable to marginalized communities for creating equitable and sustainable environments where social justice is woven into every facet of our programs, and by caring for our communities in a culturally versatile and respectful manner.

Global Excellence

The Global Excellence team, made of up leaders from across the association, work as community liaisons to ensure our branches, programs and services reflect the communities we serve. Global Excellence uses the following principles to guide their organizational strategies, operations and programs:

  • Lead with empathy
  • Recognize, value and embrace all dimensions of diversity and work towards the greatest possible inclusion
  • Foster a safe exchange of ideas, beliefs and perspectives
  • Advance social equity and bridge-building across communities
