In Mock Trial, teens from across the State receive a case in October and work as a team to become witnesses and attorneys. Students compete throughout the winter and early spring in District Tournaments with the goal of making it to the State Championship in the spring. Throughout Mock Trial, students will gain public speaking skills and critical thinking experience in addition to working closely with their peers as a team.
Our mock trial program can be hosted in a classroom for civics credits, as an after-school club, in a community center, or a local Y or youth group program. For more information about participating and registering as a Y Mock Trial team, contact Gaby Diamond.
The State Competition will be held on March 24-26 at the Thurston County Courthouse.
- Friday, March 24: trials will begin at 6:30 pm.
- Saturday, March 25: trials will begin at 8:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 4:00 pm.
- Sunday, March 26: our Championship Round will begin at 11:30 am.
