YMCA Youth Conference on National Affairs (CONA)
Black Mountain, NC (June)
Delegates to CONA draft proposals on national and international importance and discuss their ideas with nearly 1,000 of their peers from around the country. The conference takes place at the historic Blue Ridge Center where teens have opportunities to hike, swim, and catch the Blue Ridge Spirit.
Governors Conference
Washington D.C. (June)
For over four decades, the YMCA Youth Governors from around the country gather in the nation's capitol to learn about servant leadership and make friendships that will last a lifetime. Each year, delegates of the Youth Legislature elect Washington's Youth Governor to participate in this conference.
National Advocacy Days
Washington D.C. (February)
Two students from Washington State are nominated each year to participate in the Youth Track during YMCA National Advocacy Days. Students travel to the other Washington to learn effective advocacy skills, discuss YMCA policy issues, and meet with elected officials.
Changemakers Conference
Washington D.C. (June)
High school students from each state, DC, and Puerto Rico are encouraged to apply to the Changemakers Conference for a chance to win $5,000 for their community! Two students will be selected to represent the State of Washington at the conference in Washington D.C. The two students must work together on a project proposal that addresses critical issues and needs in their community.
To be considered for this conference, students must submit a Project Leader Application and a Project Proposal by the deadlines set forth by the YMCA of the USA. Learn more here >>
