Traditional Camp

The traditional camp experience in a gorgeous setting is nearby YMCA Colman on Case Inlet in lower Puget Sound

Our Specialty Camps are designed for a wide range of experience, from beginner to expert. Throughout the week, groups generally spend half of the day focused on their specialty area, (i.e. skateboarding or horseback riding). For the remainder of a day, the group’s activities may include swimming in the pool, arts & crafts, archery, visiting the camp store, capture-the-flag, all camp events and campfires.

Teens are drawn to YMCA Expeditions, not just to explore new places, but for the thrill of personal accomplishment and team connection. Expeditions cover a lot more than terrain and water — they're journeys that tap into the very best that each teen has to offer, for themselves and the well-being and growth of the group. One, two and four week programs available.

Our Leadership Development Institute's (LDI) two week program is a great "next step" for teens who have been coming to traditional camp for years, and a wonderful introduction to camp for someone new to Orkila. LDI combines familiar traditional camp activities with a leadership focus with a five-day expedition - sailing, sea kayaking or bike touring.
