Ishaan was a student at the Y’s Early Education Center at Lea Hill. He especially loved being in the classroom with his teacher, Sonal. Her warmth, patience, and care made a noticeable impact on him, and he always came home excited about his day. His mother often talked about the relief she felt knowing that he was in a nurturing environment where he felt valued and engaged.
Moving to the Y’s Early Education Center was a transformative experience for Ishaan’s family. In their previous childcare setting, they experienced a lack of diversity and subtle disparities in how families were treated. Finding a place where inclusion and community were truly reflected was a refreshing change. His mother was especially grateful for the kindness and professionalism of the staff and the welcoming environment they cultivated. She shared,
“I especially wanted to thank you for your kindness from the very first day when we registered. You immediately made us feel both welcome and safe to be ourselves.”
When it was time for Ishaan to transition into kindergarten, it was a bittersweet moment for the family. While the change was difficult, they remained grateful for the solid foundation of learning that Ishaan had experienced at the YMCA Early Education Center at Lea Hill.
