As we look back on 2024, we are in awe of the many ways that the community has continued to support the YMCA of Greater Seattle. We are deeply moved by the collective spirit of resilience, compassion, and unity that defines our community of support.

Our reach of people and places we served across our region in 2024, by the numbers.

More than 205,000 people across our region were served through the YMCA of Greater Seattle, including 131,000+ members, 69,000+ additional program participants, and 5,100+ through the Social Impact Center.

137 locations, including 14 local Ys, 42 day and overnight camps, 70 before and after-school, early education, and preschool sites, and 11 young adult shelter and housing facilities, offered programs provided by the Y.

22,485 happy campers got outside at our camps, including 10,188 in Outdoor Leadership Development programs, 7,500 who made lasting friendships at Day Camp, and 4,797 who experienced the magic of our overnight camps.

6,671 young minds were engaged in our child care and enrichment programs, including 3,400 in Before and After-School Enrichment, 2,691 through Kids Zone drop-in care, and 580 at our Early Education Centers.

More than 3,500 staff worked at the Y of Greater Seattle throughout the year. We averaged 2,200 staff per month — and more than 2,600 during peak summer months.
Almost 4,000 donors contributed more than $14M to be invested back into their community through the Y. More than $7.5M was awarded in financial assistance to ensure Y membership and programs are accessible to all.
More than 1,200 volunteers contributed almost 47,000 hours of service to their community, completing more than 2,000 assignments and 167 projects.
206 community leaders donated their time and expertise to our leadership boards, including 20+ Directors of the Board, 40+ Life Board Members, and 16 advisory boards with 130+ members.
From health and wellness centers and child care sites to day and overnight camps and Social Impact Centers, the Y is part of every local community we serve.
VIEW LOCATIONS
At the Y, we believe health and fitness means taking care of Whole Person Health, and that even small changes can make a big difference. We invest in the health of members and program participants, and help them meet their goals — whether that means losing weight, gaining strength, or simply finding ways to increase energy and decrease stress. Individuals are not only supported by our staff, they are part of a community committed to helping them learn new things, explore new activities, and discover their best self at any stage in their life.

Through swimming lessons, swim teams, lap swimming, and more, we provide a safe environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Through our community-based Whole Person Health programs and services, we bridge clinical care, public health, and daily life routines and practices.

We support health and wellness goal with a variety of group fitness classes, specialty and personal training options, and social groups, outings, and potlucks designed for our Active Older Adult (AOA) community.
The Y is connecting people with chronic conditions to evidence-based programs that support their Whole Person Health through trusted healthcare partnerships.

The Y nurtures the potential of every young person by supporting their unique development journey through holistic programming. From cradle to career, the Y provides all youth with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life. In 2024, we grew the number of kids in our programs to 6,671, and continued our commitment to diversifying our staff, with 49% of our youth development team identifying as Persons of Color.

Y Camps and Outdoor Leadership programs help kids and teens become their best selves through innovative camp activities and programs.

The Y got 6,560 kids moving through programs such as basketball, volleyball, soccer, t-ball, and martial arts, where they developed skills and built confidence.

Y programs offer kids the support they need to thrive and provide families peace of mind. No matter the financial situation, there’s a place for every child at the Y.

Our youth and teen programs prepare participants by providing resources and hands-on experiences that help them gain practical, real-life skills.

Every gift matters. From monthly donations and legacy commitments to in-kind contributions and volunteer hours, the collective generosity of our partners is essential to our mission. These contributions expand access, advance equity, and strengthen community across our region. We are grateful for this shared commitment to creating opportunity and belonging — for all.

Our Annual Fund Drive strengthens our capacity to deliver programs that support youth, individuals, and families in local communities when they need it most.

Our corporate partners donate time and expertise to support our mission through sponsorships, matching gifts, volunteer hours, and program funding.

Volunteers are the heart of our mission. They give the gift of time and energy to strengthen and uplift those we serve.

Thanks to the generous support of our private foundation and government partners, over $20M was raised in 2024, ensuring that Y programs are accessible to all. From funding housing and food access to day camps and improving our camp properties, these partnerships strengthen our mission and expand opportunity across the communities we serve.
Our endowment surpassed $41M enabling $1.88M in funding to fuel impact throughout the region. We thank 23 visionary donors who contributed to, or established new, endowments driving lasting support and sustaining programs such as camping, youth development, swimming access, and youth sports, for generations to come.
At the Y, learning to swim became more than a skill — it was a journey of confidence, connection, and community for three generations.

Social Impact
The Y provides trauma-informed, evidence-based programs tailored to support individuals of all ages and families. Our approach is multifaceted and taps strategic partnerships, to ensure holistic care and address complex needs. We deliver services primarily through our Y Social Impact Center but also as part of our Youth Development program.
Housing support services ensured 485 young adults had shelter.
Job readiness and employment support reached 171 youth and young adults.
Mentorship and safety programs engaged more than 600 youth.
Food assistance programs provided over 589,000 meals to youth and families.
Mental health counseling services supported 1,664 individuals.
Foster care programs helped 79% of participating youth exit to stable housing.
