Family Game Night

Take a moment to laugh, play, and connect during a family game night. Have family game night once or make it a monthly tradition for everyone to enjoy. You can repurpose a few old trophies to add some friendly competition and rotate the trophies at each family game night. The most important aspect of family game night is to laugh, play, and have fun together as a family!

Here are some fun games for your next family game night:

Balloon Stomp Game

Get ready to laugh with this family favorite! You will need an open area for this fun family game. Every family member will need to tie a string to a balloon, then tie the other end of the string to their leg. The objective of the game is to protect your balloon from being popped, all while trying to pop your family members' balloon. The last person with a balloon wins!

Balloon Volleyball

Create an indoor volleyball court with a streamer, string, or even use furniture as a net. Next, divide your family into two teams and get ready for some family fun. Add an extra level of fun by having team members do a dance move, sing a song, or spell a word for every point scored. Whether you play one game or a match your sure to have fun as a family while playing balloon volleyball.

Obstacle Course

Let each family member create an obstacle course for others to participate in. Get creative by adding spins, crawls, jumps, songs, and hops into your course. For an extra level of competition, record the time each family member takes to complete the course and track times for the next family game night.

Musical Chairs

Chairs and music are the only supplies you will need for this classic family game. You will need one less chair than there are people i.e. with four people you will need three chairs. Place chairs in a circle facing out, then get ready to walk and dance in a circle until the music stops. When the music stops everyone finds a seat. The person left without a chair is out of the game. Remove a chair each round until there is only one person left.

Camouflage

Identify an object to hide around the house such as a small stuffed animal or toy. One person is the hider and the rest of the family will be the finders. The finders will leave the room while the hider camouflages (hides) the object. Have the hider use hot and cold to help the family locate the object. The first person to find the object gets to hide it for the next round.

Compliment Circle

End your family game night with compliments. This is an opportunity for us to reflect and appreciate those in our family. Be thoughtful and specific with your compliments. Identify who will be in the complement chair first. Next, let the compliments begin! Make sure everyone has a chance to share a compliment with that person. Take turns, making sure everyone including adults get a chance to be complemented. This is a sure way to end your family night in gratitude!
