Poetry is a wonderful way to convey emotions, share ideas, and entertain the audience all in one. Join a local Y member and widely-published poet, Terry Busch, to discover your creative writing side.  

These workshops are offered as part of the Y's virtual Healthy Aging Series! You can find similar events in our What's Happening for Active Older Adults blog, too.

Part 1 | Friday, October 30 | 10:00 - 11:00am
Learn about poetry styles, examine the use of poetics in poetry and prose-poems, and practice writing with guided prompts.

Part 2 | Friday, November 6 | 10:00 - 11:00am
In this follow up poetry event, share your poems and discuss the experience of discovering your creative writing side with the group.

These workshops will be held on Zoom and registration is required. You will be emailed the link to join the virtual meeting on the day prior to the event.

About Terry Busch

Terry was born and raised in California and has been living in Washington since 2004. He started writing poetry in 1972 and self-published his first book of poetry titled Traces in 1981. Terry has worked as an editor and producer and has been published in many poetry quarterlies and anthologies. His recent publications include Almost Forever, Selected Poetry from 1972-2014, and Realms of the Heart, a collaboration with his wife, Shirlee. He regularly leads poetry groups at the Northshore Senior Center and has been the emcee for monthly readings at The Creekside in Woodinville and Tsuga Gallery in Bothell.
