What an evening! Last Wednesday, Y supporters, volunteers, partners, and community members gathered at the Seattle Art Museum to recognize changemakers at the 34th annual A.K. Guy Awards. The selfless work done and shining examples set by honorees epitomizes what it means to activate and elevate community. Guests left inspired to become changemakers themselves.  

This Year’s Honorees:

The A.K. Guy Award:  

Dr. William Bell and Casey Family Programs—for their outstanding volunteer service and dedication to social responsibility and equity and justice for all. 

The Judge Charles V. and Lazelle Johnson Excellence in Social Justice Award: 

Judge Richard and Leslie Jones—for their advancement of equity and social justice. 

The Hero Everyday Awards: 

In recognition of individuals who exemplify community service and advance their communities toward social and economic equality. Presented to: 

Youth/Teen: Jaylen Diamond Swanson—for his work as a volunteer sports coach at the Matt Griffin Y and his leadership within his school.

Young Adult: Jayma Erker—for her commitment to ending period poverty through a donation program with the Y.

Adult: Kevy Wijaya—for his collaboration with Bellevue Y to provide accessible youth vaccines in a safe and familiar environment.
