Dear Y Family and Friends,
As we reflect on 2025, one word keeps coming back to us: community. Not as a concept, but as something we witnessed in action every single day — in our branches, at our camps, in our shelters, and across the neighborhoods we are honored to call home. This was a year that reminded us why the Y exists, and what becomes possible when people show up for one another.
This year, we deepened our reach across every area of our mission. More than 4,000 young people explored the outdoors through our Overnight Camp programs, and our service to youth in the outdoors surpassed 1.6 million hours in a single year. At our Early Education Centers, more than 625 children found a nurturing start, with more than one in three supported by financial assistance. Through our Y Social Impact Center, 1,977 individuals received mental health counseling, 924 youth were housed through our programs, and 566,418 meals reached youth and families across King County. And through the Y + Heritage University Education Enhancement Program, 18 students, including five of our own Social Impact Center staff, graduated with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling, helping us build the diverse, community-rooted behavioral health workforce our region so urgently needs.
We also celebrated together. A sold-out Changemakers Luncheon brought nearly 850 people together to honor extraordinary leaders whose commitment to equity and justice mirrors our own. Healthy Kids Day welcomed more than 4,000 participants across 12 branches. And the first-ever RAVE mini soccer pitch at a YMCA opened at our Northshore Y, creating a new space for young athletes to connect, compete, and belong.
We want to be honest with you: 2025 was not without its challenges. Like many nonprofits, we continued to navigate an uncertain funding environment, and the pressures of federal and state funding reductions are real. They affect the programs and people who count on us most. And yet, because of you, we did not pull back. We leaned in. We grew. We met more people where they were, and we will continue to do so.
Looking ahead, we remain clear-eyed about what the work requires and deeply confident in the community that makes it possible. With the generosity of more than 4,600 donors, 1,100 volunteers, and a remarkable network of corporate and foundation partners, the Y’s mission is alive and well and growing.
To every person who gave, volunteered, partnered, and believed in this work: thank you. You are not just supporting an organization. You are building a community where every person has the chance to thrive.
With heartfelt gratitude,
