Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
This fall, the YMCA of Greater Seattle is proud to partner with Washington State's Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) to offer free preschool for up to 40 children at both our Redmond and Eastgate Early Education Centers.
For many families, finding a high-quality preschool can be one of the biggest challenges of the early years. This partnership helps remove that barrier, giving more children the opportunity to build confidence, develop new skills, and discover a lifelong love of learning in a nurturing YMCA environment.
Learning Through Play, Growing for Life
At the YMCA, we believe children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore. Our Early Education Centers are designed to help every child develop socially, emotionally, physically, and academically through hands-on learning, play, and meaningful relationships with caring teachers.
By partnering with ECEAP, we're able to welcome even more families into our early learning community while helping children build the foundation they need for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond.
What is ECEAP?
ECEAP is Washington State's free preschool program for eligible children ages 3 to 5. The program supports the whole child by combining high-quality early learning with family support services, health and developmental screenings, and nutritious meals to help children arrive at kindergarten ready to succeed.
The YMCA is honored to join a statewide network of providers committed to giving every child the best possible start.
Who Can Participate?
ECEAP is available to eligible families with children ages 3 to 5. Eligibility is based on family income and other qualifying circumstances, and many families are surprised to learn they may qualify. If you're unsure, we encourage you to reach out—we're happy to help you understand the program and guide you through the enrollment process.
Growing Stronger Together
The YMCA of Greater Seattle helps children build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning through early education. This new partnership allows us to continue that work while expanding opportunities for families in our community.
Beginning September 2026, ECEAP classrooms will be available at our Redmond and Eastgate Early Education Centers. We look forward to welcoming new children and families and helping more young learners begin their educational journey surrounded by caring teachers, supportive classmates, and a community that believes in their potential.
