Age Guidelines for Pools & Hot Tubs

For the safety of all, members are expected to abide by the following rules when using our aquatics centers.

Aquatics Center Age Guidelines
The following age guidelines apply to the pool and hot tub.
Ages 10 & Under
Supervising Individual must be present in pool area at all times.
Ages 11 & Under
Not allowed in hot tub at any time.
Ages 12 to 13
Supervising individual present and actively supervising at all times.
Ages 14 & Older
Supervising Individual not required.
Swim Test Policy
Youth who are 14 years & under are required to take the swim test consisting of the following three elements before using the aquatics centers.
Deep water plunge with head going below surface.
Surface and swim 25 yards without stopping.
30-second tread or float.
Swim Test Age Guidelines
The following rules apply to each age group dependent on passage of the swim test.
PASSED Swim Test
Ages 10 & Under:
Supervising Individual must be present in pool area but not required to be in water.
NOT PASSED Swim Test
Ages 10 & Under:
Supervising Individual must be in water within arm’s reach of youth.
PASSED Swim Test
Ages 11 to 14:
May use pool at all depths.
NOT PASSED Swim Test
Ages 11 to 14:
Not allowed in deep end of pool.
Ages 15 to 17:
Youth who exhibit lack of comfort and/or cannot stand flat footed at deepest level with head above water, may be asked to pass swim test.
