Getting Started

The Y has support for every step of your weight loss journey. Here's how to maximize the free-to-member and paid resources available at the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

  1. Try the Y! Get started at the Y with a free one-week trial pass for you and your family. This free pass allows you to visit the Y three times within one week. Try drop-in group fitness classes, explore our state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, hoop it up on our full size courts, or dive into the pool for lap swim. Get 2 hours of Kids Zone free with each visit.
  2. Create an activity plan by taking a tour of your Y. While some find success in sticking with their favorite activity others report that diversifying their workouts and trying new things is key! Take a tour of your Y to determine where your interests lie: fitness center, weight room, aquatics center, gymnasium...the Y has something for everyone to stay active.
  3. Schedule a Personalized Wellness Plan. Take advantage of this FREE member benefit. Because everyone's path to wellness is different, the Y provides a personalized plan, developed in consultation with a wellness coach, to help you create your own path to health and well-being.
