Drop in virtually for an afternoon of engaging exploration and playful recess fun!
Play Zone connects kids virtually after school with a drop-in, play-based program geared towards students in kindergarten to 3rd grade that promises to engage with silly recess games and fun projects. It brings what the Y knows best about after-school child care and active play into the home virtually to help parents bridge the gap between the end of the school day and dinner time.
Choose when you drop in — whether it's once a week or every day! The program is 60 minutes long (from 4:00-5:00 pm) and is offered Monday to Friday.
Weekly themes help encourage curiosity and exploration.
January 4 - 8
Travel the globe without ever having to leave the house. Join us as we read books from all over the world, explore new cultures, and learn as much as we can about some faraway places!
January 11 - 15
It's time to celebrate our loved ones with stories about our friends and family! We'll explore the relationship between our grown-ups, our siblings, and our friends through iconic children's books.
January 18 - 22
Let's get active! Each day, we'll read a story about a new sport or game, and focus our enrichment on games and activities that get the body moving!
January 25 - 29
From Aesop to Rudyard Kipling and beyond, it's time explore the wide world of fables, the morals in those stories, and the life lessons the teach. And, we'll get the chance to write our own, too!
February 1 - 5
From the depths of the ocean to the deep dark woods and the vast unknown of outerspace, join us as we leave no stone unturned! This week, we'll read tales of adventure, exploration, and of course, trusty companions.

Do you love a good story that rhymes? This week is all about diving deeper into the whimsy of children's books. Books with rhyme and rhythm and turns of phrase that twist your tongue - get ready for a week full of laughter.
February 15 - 19
Ready to explore the animal kingdom? From non-fiction books that teach us all we could hope to know about or favorite species, to ficticious tales of adventure with our favorite anthropomorphized animal friends, this week has a little bit of everything in between.
February 22 - 26
Join us as we travel back in time to the days of old - through story! This week will feature storybooks written more than 50 years ago, as well as modern stories that look back at the good ol' days.
