The At-Home Summer Camp Solution

Sure, summer may look a little different this year, but that's no reason to stop exploring! During summer break from elementary school, the Y's Camp in a Box brings the magic of camp to wherever you are. Each week, the box will be filled with the tools you need to explore the great nearby, including classic camp activities like arts and crafts and hands-on STEM projects (science, technology, engineering and math). Plus, campers will stay connected with each other and their counselor through twice daily interactive meetings.

  1. I cannot afford the full cost of Camp in a Box, are there financial aid or scholarship options?
    Yes, the Y is committed to ensuring all of our programs are affordable for all. Please fill out this quick form to learn more. 
  2. Do I qualify for Facility Member pricing if my membership is on hold while facilities are closed or not up to full operations?
    You must be an active member to qualify for Facility Member pricing. If you would like to remove your hold status, please email us.  
  3. When are fees due for Camp in a Box?
    For spring, payment is due in full at time of registration. For summer, a $15 deposit is due in full at the time of registration. Full payment is automatically deducted on the Saturday before your camp week. 
  4. What is the deadline to register for Camp in a Box?
    Registration closes on Monday, one week prior to each week of camp. For example, if the first week of Camp in a Box starts June 28, registration would close on June 21.
  5. Do I have to sign up for all weeks of Camp in a Box?
    No, you can choose to sign up for any or all weeks!
  6. What is your cancellation policy?
    Cancellations must be made 9 days before the start of Camp in a Box by emailing us.
  7. Where and when do I pick up my box?
    Boxes can be picked up at your local YMCA the week before camp starts during specified times. When registering, you will choose your preferred pick-up location. Additional details will be emailed to you. 
  8. What supplies are included in the box?
    Boxes will include everything needed to complete an activity, except for basic items like scissors, markers, crayons, glue, or basic household items.
  9. How do I log on to my Zoom meeting? 
    We will email detailed instructions for Zoom meetings at least one day before the meeting.
  10. What time is my Zoom meeting? 
     9:30 - 10:15am and 2:00 - 2:45pm
  11. If I can't make a Zoom meeting, is there a make-up time?
    No, there are not make-up Zoom meetings but you are not required to attend to participate in Camp in a Box.
  12. What ages are appropriate for Camp in a Box? 
    Camp in a Box is tailored for kids entering Kindergarten through 5th grades. Activities and calls will be split into two age groups: 
    • Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
    • 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
