Recognition reflects the collective work of YMCA of Greater Seattle staff, partners, and volunteers

The Puget Sound Business Journal (PSBJ) recently hosted its annual Power 100 reception, honoring leaders whose influence and service shape the Puget Sound region. The event brings together changemakers across business, nonprofit, philanthropy, and civic life — individuals whose decisions and leadership strengthen communities and drive meaningful progress.

This year, the YMCA of Greater Seattle’s President and CEO, Loria Yeadon, was again named to the Power 100 list. She joins a distinguished group that includes Vulcan’s Jody Allen, the Ballmer Group’s Steve Ballmer, and the Seattle Kraken’s Tod Leiweke — among other leaders whose work ripples through the region’s economic, cultural, and social landscape. Earlier this year, Loria was also named one of the region’s 15 Most Admired CEOs by the Business Journal.

While the recognition highlights her leadership, Loria emphasizes that the honor is a shared one.

A Collective Achievement

In reflecting on the recognition, Loria noted that the award “is not mine alone.  This honor truly belongs to all YMCA of Greater Seattle staff, volunteers, and partners.”

Across the Puget Sound region YGS employees, volunteers, and partners bring the organization’s mission to life each day. Their dedication creates spaces of belonging for youth and families, supports equitable access to opportunity, and ensures that community well-being remains at the center of the Y’s work.

From youth development and family support to housing, harm reduction, mental health, swimming and water safety, and accessible health and wellness, the Y’s impact is shaped by teams who show up with compassion and purpose. Their work reflects the belief that strengthening community requires collaboration, courage, and compassion.

“This award reflects the collective strength of our staff, along with the support of volunteers and partners who embody the very best of what YGS represents,” Loria shared. “I am proud to stand and lead alongside each of you as we continue to build a more equitable future of belonging and opportunity for all.”

Leadership Rooted in Mission

The Power 100 list recognizes individuals whose influence extends beyond their organizations. For Loria and the entire YGS community, that influence is grounded in a commitment to equity and justice for all.

Under her leadership, the Y has expanded efforts that address some of the region’s most pressing issues: youth homelessness, food insecurity, affordable childcare access, social isolation, community health, and the urgent need for belonging across all ages.

The organization continues to adapt to evolving community needs while holding fast to its mission of supporting people of all backgrounds, abilities, and life circumstances.

Looking Ahead

As the Y moves forward, this recognition serves as both a celebration and a call to continued action. Strengthening the region requires shared effort—and the Y remains committed to collaborating with partners, civic leaders, and community members to build a community where all people, especially the young, are encouraged to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind, and body.

We need the help of philanthropic partners to fuel our work at a time when government funding cuts, delays, and uncertainty threaten critical programs we deliver to the community. Please consider making a meaningful gift today.

Recognition by the PSBJ is an honor for all of us at the Y. We are grateful to the PSBJ for highlighting leaders working to improve our communities, and we congratulate all of this year’s Power 100 honorees.
