A New Resource for Health and Well-being is Now Available in Bothell
On September 19, the YMCA of Greater Seattle welcomed community members, partners, and local leaders to celebrate the opening of the Northshore Community Health Hub, a new space at the Northshore YMCA Annex designed to make it easier for individuals and families to connect with resources and support.
Created in partnership with the City of Bothell, Healthier Here, and staffed by the YMCA of Greater Seattle, the Hub offers free, confidential behavioral health services and resource navigation, with no YMCA membership required. Community members can connect with mental health assessments, therapy and case management, substance use disorder treatment, and help finding resources for needs such as healthcare, child care, housing, food, employment, and more.
A Celebration of Health and Well-being
The opening gave community members an opportunity to explore the new space and experience some of the ways the Y and its partners support whole-person health.
Neighbors toured the Hub, joined a dance fitness class, received free blood pressure screenings, created mental wellness kits, and connected with community partners. These hands-on experiences offered a glimpse of what the Hub is designed to be: a welcoming place where people can connect with support for their overall health and well-being.
A Partnership for Bothell
The celebration also recognized the partnerships that helped bring the Hub to life. City of Bothell leaders joined the event, including Deputy Mayor Jenne Alderks and City Manager Kyle Stannert, along with members of the City Council and staff from the city’s Human Services and Economic Development teams.
A representative from U.S. Senator Patty Murray’s office also attended and shared a letter from the Senator, who grew up in Bothell. Senator Murray helped secure $850,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending for the Hub, helping make this new community resource possible.
As the YMCA of Greater Seattle celebrates 150 years, the Northshore Community Health Hub represents another way the Y is evolving to meet the needs of our communities. By bringing behavioral health, resource navigation, wellness opportunities, and community connections together, the Hub creates a place where people can find support and take their next step toward greater well-being.
