Has the child in your home been approved for Behavioral Rehabilitation Services (BRS) by the Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF)?
If so, the Y’s In-Home BRS program may be the right option for your family. For more than 35 years, the Y has provided therapeutic foster care services in the Greater Seattle area. Our trained Case Managers, Case Aides, and Child and Family Therapists bring expertise in supporting youth engaged in the child welfare system.
Behavioral Rehabilitation Services Program Overview
The program provides intensive, temporary support to children and youth with complex behavioral and emotional needs. The goal is to help youth stabilize, achieve permanency, and remain in their homes and communities whenever possible. BRS equips youth and their families with the skills and support systems they need to thrive long term.
The Y’s BRS program offers intensive case management and individualized behavior management plans tailored to each youth’s unique needs, strengths, and goals.
Available Services Include:
- Connection to community resources
- Educational support and advocacy
- Development of independent living skills
- Safety planning
- Crisis support
- Respite care
Our BRS Case Managers maintain smaller caseloads than traditional managers, allowing them to be more present and available. This approach has been highly successful in preventing placement disruptions and supporting youth as they transition to less intensive services. Above all, the Y is committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally responsive care for every youth and family we serve.
