Two teen girls with painted faces at camp.

At camp, we believe it’s important to reflect on our personal values and where they come from! Have each family member pick the three values most important to them from the list below, and then consider the discussion questions.

• Authenticity • Achievement • Adventure • Autonomy • Balance • Beauty • Boldness • Caring • Compassion • Challenge • Citizenship • Community • Competency • Contribution • Creativity • Curiosity • Determination • Fairness • Faith • Fame • Friendships • Fun • Growth • Happiness • Honesty • Humor • Influence • Justice • Kindness • Knowledge • Leadership • Learning • Love • Loyalty • Openness • Optimism • Peace • Pleasure • Poise • Popularity • Recognition • Religion • Reputation • Respect • Responsibility • Security • Self-Respect • Service • Spirituality • Stability • Success • Status • Trustworthiness • Wisdom

Discussion Questions

  1. Did anybody pick the same values? Why do you think that is?
  2. Did anybody pick a value that you were surprised by?
  3. Which value would you like to develop more in yourself?
  4. Which value do you feel best represents who you are? How do you think your values have changed in the last year? How do you think they might change in the future?
