The values and skills learned early in life are vital building blocks for a successful adulthood. At the Y, we believe all kids deserve a strong start and a safe place to grow. Parents trust the Y’s child care programs to support and nurture their children from infancy through the teen years and help them become strong, capable and engaged young people.

Infant & Toddler Care

Serving ages 6 weeks to 2 years. Our infant and toddler programs at the Y create a learning environment for children, a warm “extended” family atmosphere in which children feel secure, comfortable, and important. The educational and recreational activities, the nurturing staff, and the belief that play is an integral way of learning for a young child are all part of our child-centered environment.

Serving ages 2 to 5 years.

Preschool Care

Serving ages 2.5 to 5 years. In Y Preschool programs, your child will develop skills to build character values and self-esteem, and improve kindergarten readiness. We base our educational and guidance decisions for children on our knowledge of child development. Our number one goal is to provide the kind of environment and influence that encourage all children to become creative, independent and responsible students who can make positive choices for themselves. Kids in our Preschool programs must be potty trained.

Serving ages 5 - 12 years.

Serving ages 5 - 12 years. When school's out, you can trust the Y to provide an engaging experience for your child. Y School Age Programs give your child the opportunity to get to know some of their classmates better after school as they engage in active play and collaborate on fun projects. In the process, they'll continue to develop the physical, educational, emotional and social skills that are essential for success. The Auburn School District provides transportation from Lea Hill Elementary, Arthur Jacobsen Elementary, Hazelwood Elementary and Washington Elementary Schools.
