The Empowered Leaders Resource Network (ELRN) brings meaningful value to employees and the Y by creating opportunities for professional growth, leadership development, and stronger organizational impact. Formed in late 2025, ELRN unified separate employee resource networks into one structure to strengthen alignment, collaboration, and collective impact across the Y. Through Employee Resource Group (ERG) subcommittees aligned with identity groups, staff gain hands-on experience leading initiatives, managing budgets, organizing events, and building skills that support advancement into leadership roles. ELRN encourages collaboration across identities and experiences by allowing participation in multiple groups, strengthening intersectional connection and visibility.
Identities supported and uplifted include:

"The Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) single-handedly changed my life for the better, teaching me what it means to take care of yourself and that it’s never too late to get healthy. Thanks to the DPP, I not only gained valuable knowledge about my health, but I’ve also successfully lowered my A1C – a goal that felt daunting at first but became achievable with your encouragement and expertise as well as my classmates.
I want to give a shoutout to my classmates. Their support, shared experiences, and motivation made this journey even more meaningful. It’s been truly inspiring to witness everyone’s progress, and I’m grateful to have been a part of such a dedicated and uplifting community." ~DPP participant
What began as a fitness class became a journey of belonging, cultural pride, and creating community for others.
