Community is only as strong as the people within it. How much we are willing to give of our time, passion, and aid to lift others around us helps make all of us stronger, it's something we know and live every day at the Y. It is during difficult times when we are called upon to step up and help meet the needs of your neighbors, friends, and family. Volunteerism is the engine that drives community support and action, and we want to take a moment to celebrate the people who make a difference. 

This September, the YMCA of Greater Seattle brings you the A.K. Guy Awards Event: Celebrating Changemakers in Communities, where we’ll gather to recognize the people that make our corner of the world the greatest place to thrive in spirit, mind, and body.

Five awards will be given out in recognition for exceptional volunteerism and impacts on community, that truly speak to urgent issues and enrich the lives of people today and tomorrow. 

Nominations are now open, please help us recognize an exceptional leader, neighbor, friend, or well, anyone who should be celebrated. 

Then, keep an eye out for an RSVP coming soon to join us at Seattle Art Museum on September 28, 2022 for the award event. You’ll not only be celebrating a good cause and honoring amazing people, but it’s also a great way to learn more about how to activate your own journey for volunteerism and supporting community.
