Holiday Magic Takes Flight with Delta Air Lines

A hangar is not where you expect to find a holiday celebration, but that is part of what makes Holiday in the Hangar so memorable.

Each year, Delta Air Lines opens its doors to create a moment of joy and connection for families in our community. This annual tradition centered around Y branches neighboring SeaTac, reflects what it truly means to build community – through care, collaboration, and shared purpose.

This year, families from our Kent Y and surrounding neighborhoods were welcomed into a space where they could experience belonging. From the first warm welcome to the final wave goodbye, the day was filled with laughter, joy, and the steady presence of neighbors showing up for one another.

At the Y, belonging isn’t just something we talk about – it’s something we strive to create in every interaction. Holiday in the Hangar reminds us of what’s possible when compassion leads and community follows.

We are deeply grateful to Delta Air Lines for their continued commitment to the families we serve and for hosting Holiday in the Hangar, a tradition that brings joy and connection to our community each year. We also extend special thanks to Helda Durham – a dedicated Delta leader and Y Board member – whose leadership and collaboration help make this meaningful experience possible.

Together, we’re building moments that matter and creating a better us – for all.
