It includes goal-setting guidance, nutritional support, and practical training advice from a YMCA health coach — all within a group of supportive members that help you stay motivated.

What is Wellness Kickstart?

Wellness Kickstart is a four-week small group program for adults designed to help you feel comfortable, confident, and supported as you begin or restart your wellness journey at the YMCA. The program combines guided orientation, goal setting, movement exploration, and habit-building to help you create momentum that lasts beyond the program.

Who can participate in Wellness Kickstart?

Currently, Wellness Kickstart is a pilot program limited to new members who join between December 26, 2025, and January 31, 2026. 

When the full program launches, it will be available to all current members, ages 18 and older, whether new or returning, for a fee of $150.

Who is Wellness Kickstart for?

Wellness Kickstart is perfect for adults of all fitness levels, ages 18 and older, especially:

  • New YMCA members
  • Members returning after time away
  • Members who are unsure how to get started
  • Anyone looking for structure, accountability, and encouragement
Who leads Wellness Kickstart?

The program is led by trained YMCA Healthy Living staff who specialize in supportive, inclusive, and judgment-free coaching.

Do I need prior fitness experience to participate?

Not at all. Wellness Kickstart is designed to meet you where you are. All activities are adaptable and optional, and you are encouraged to build your movement plans at a pace that feels right for you.

How often do participants meet?

The program meets for one hour, once per week for four weeks.

What can I expect over the four weeks?

Each week builds on the last and may include:

  • YMCA navigation and wellness floor orientation
  • Safe and supportive equipment instruction
  • Exploration of group exercise classes and programs
  • Goal setting, reflection, and habit-building strategies
  • Community connection and accountability
What should I bring or wear?

The first two weeks are primarily spent in a discussion group, but during the third week, we will move together so please bring:

  • Comfortable clothing you can move in
  • Supportive athletic shoes
  • A water bottle
  • Your Wellness Kickstart Participant Journal (provided at our first meeting)
Will week three be an intense workout?

No. We will focus on light-to-moderate movement. This program emphasizes confidence, consistency, and sustainable habits, not high-intensity training.

What happens after the four weeks are over?

By the end of the program, we are confident you will leave with:

  • A personalized action plan to continue your wellness journey 
  • Confidence in navigating the YMCA independently
  • Awareness of classes, programs, and supports that fit your goals
  • Community connections with other members in your group
  • Clear next steps to continue your wellness journey
Do I need a YMCA membership to participate?

Is Wellness Kickstart included if I'm already a member?

Wellness Kickstart is currently FREE ($150 Value!) to new or returning members who join the Y between December 26, 2025, and January 31, 2026.
