These policies for payments and refunds are specific to Camping & Outdoor Leadership summer programs at Camp Orkila and Camp Colman, and BOLD & GOLD.
Payment Due Date
Final payment must be received in the YMCA Camping & Outdoor Leadership office no later than May 1. After May 1, full payment is required at the time of registration.
Payment Methods
Make checks payable to YMCA Camping & Outdoor Leadership. Send to 909 Fourth Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104. There will be a $20 charge for returned checks. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express.
Session or Program Changes
There is no additional fee to change sessions. Subject to availability in the program and session you would like to switch to, we are happy to accommodate your request to move to a different session. Please contact us by phone or email to discuss changing your participant’s registration.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellations received by May 1 are eligible for a refund of fees less the non-refundable deposit. Any cancellations or refund requests received after May 1 (via email or in writing) are not eligible for a refund or credit. Extenuating circumstances may be reviewed and potentially approved at the discretion of the YMCA. Approved refunds are processed via original payment method. No refunds are granted for participants who are late arrivals, no shows, or who are asked to leave their program for behavioral issues.
Late Arrivals and No Shows
If your participant will arrive late to camp or will be picked up early, please notify the Camping & Outdoor Leadership office at least three weeks prior to the session to make arrangements. If a participant does not show up at camp by the evening of the opening day, staff will call the primary contact to determine the participant’s whereabouts. No refunds are granted for late arrivals or no shows.
Behavioral Problems
It is our policy to consult with parents or guardians on strategies for dealing with participants who have behavioral problems. Camp staff will make every effort to call the family starting with the lives with parent or guardian, then the emergency contact. When the welfare of the participant, other participants, or camp property/equipment is jeopardized, the parent(s) or guardian(s) will be notified to pick up their participant at their own expense. Travel arrangements will always be made in advance with the parent or guardian. No refunds are granted for participants who are asked to leave camp early for behavioral issues.
