Rent and Move-in Help for Bellevue Residents

We are not currently accepting new applications for the City of Bellevue Emergency Rental Assistance Program
The Y Social Impact Center is offering rental assistance & move-in assistance for Bellevue residents. Funding is available to cover up to all documented past due rent since March 3rd 2020; all past due rent and up to 3 months of future rent. Amount of rent is subject to change and will be addressed with the applicant.
For rental assistance
(Those not COVID impacted may still apply)
- Tenant’s residence is located within Bellevue city limits.
- Household income AT or BELOW 80% area median income.
- Tenant must confirm they are at risk of experiencing homelessness or currently experiencing housing instability.
- Tenant must confirm they have been economically impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic period beginning January 27th, 2020 to present, causing loss of income and inability to pay rent.
- Landlord must agree to payment and sign Terms and Conditions.
- Tenant and Landlord must confirm non-duplication of funds.
- Tenant must provide the following documentation after application has been received:
- Lease
- Ledger showing outstanding payments
- Identification
- Income Certification
- COVID impact on housing instability
- For assistance with credit card payments for those who paid rent:
- Please provide credit card or loan statement showing payment to the landlord or lender & payment amount
- A letter from the landlord or lender confirming amount paid with credit card
Additional Information for Rental Assistance
- Rental assistance can cover utilities if they are covered in the rent total.
- Funds can also be used to pay off credit cards or loans that were used to pay for back rent only, so long as it can be documented.
- Rental assistance funds are available to those who have and have not been impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak or pandemic.
For Move-In Assistance
- Tenant’s residence is located within Bellevue city limits.
- Household income AT or BELOW 80% area median income.
- Tenant must confirm they have been economically impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic period beginning January 27th, 2020 to present, causing loss of income and inability to pay rent.
- Tenant must provide the following documentation after application has been received:
- Lease that is associated with move-in costs
- Identification
- Income Certification
- COVID impact on housing instability
Additional Information for Move-In Assistance
- Move-in assistance funds are extremely limited, and assistance is not guaranteed.
- Move-in assistance funds can only be used for current Bellevue residents moving outside of Bellevue.
- Funds can be used to cover security deposit, first and last month’s rent, application fees, etc.
Once you've applied, you'll be contacted by a Y Social Impact Center staff within 2 weeks about needed documents in order to meet additional eligibility.

- Tenants who are undocumented are eligible for this program.
- Interpretation services available.
- Rent assistance is limited and not always guaranteed depending on funding.
