"This is a family-oriented place; as a mom I need that support" Hema (Y Member)

Hemalatha ("Hema") and her family have lived in Snoqualmie for 10 years and have been members of the Snoqualmie Y for more than five. She joined because of all the great programs for her family - husband Rajkumar and kids Rahul and Rohan. She loves that the members at the Y are supportive and friendly.

Hema says she appreciates the Y because it gives kids a place to grow up. She loves that we have Kids Zone for when they are young, teen activities as they grow older and then offer first job opportunities as they stretch into adulthood.

Hema enjoys all of the classes offered at the Y. Between Yoga, Zumba, Tai Chi, and Bootcamp there’s almost no class that she hasn’t tried. She especially loves Teana’s Yoga class. "It’s not only an external workout, it also gives you inner peace" explains Hema. She has also participated in the Lose To Win program.

Hema's advice: "Keep your health goals in mind and practice regularly. Get motivated. Take group exercise classes to give yourself that extra challenge". She says that getting apps and keeping track of your workouts is also extremely helpful to stay motivated.

In her free time, Hema loves to hike with her family and friends. She also enjoys cooking and likes finding new recipes from the internet and cookbooks.
