Set your sights on a new discovery each day! Campers will spend their summer going from one adventure to the next. Art, science, storytelling, and outdoor play will ignite the sense of wonder in every camper. In small group settings, caring YMCA staff lead lively group games, exciting excursions, and super-sized summer fun that will help campers make fast friends, develop skills, and discover what they love!
Discovery Camp is perfect for kids entering 1st-5th grades.

Discovery Camp runs Monday–Friday from 9:00 am–4:00 pm. There are a few shorter weeks due to holidays and school schedules.
Extended Camp
We also offer Extended Camp at no additional cost to participants in Discovery Camp, which consists of supervised activities and structured programs before and after the camp day.
Hours for Extended Camp start at 7:30 am and end at 5:30 pm. You do not need to register separately for Extended Camp.
Important Dates
- Camps in the Shoreline and Snoqualmie School Districts begin on June 16. Camps in the Highline School District begin on June 30. All other locations begin on June 23.
- There is no camp on June 19 or July 4.
- Camps in the Lake Washington, Kent, Shoreline, and Snoqualmie School Districts end on August 22.
- There is no camp on August 28 or 29.
If your child is entering grades 1 to 5 in the fall, then yes, they can be a Discovery Camp camper!
Registration for day camp will open in February and March as follows:
- February 5 at 6:00 am to February 11 at 12:00 pm: 2024 Day Camp participants, current YMCA Before and After-School Enrichment (BASE) participants, and current YMCA Early Education participants, and their siblings
- February 12 at 6:00 am to March 11 at 12:00 pm: Facility Members of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and the group above
- March 12 at 6:00 am: Open to all, including interest list
New this year! For the first two registration windows, we will email you an exclusive registration link one day prior to your registration window opening.
Weekly camp registration closes two Sundays before the camp session. For example, for camp starting on June 23, registration closes on June 15.
Yes, the Y is committed to ensuring all families access quality and enriching camp programs. The Y provides financial assistance and a sliding fee schedule.

Yes, many of our Kids on Their Way and Discovery camps accept third-party subsidies.

Five-day weekly fees: $350 for Facility Members or $405 for Community Members
A deposit of $25 per week per camper is due upon registration. Payments are drafted on the Monday two weeks before each camp session. For example, for camp starting on June 23, payment will be drafted on June 9.

We recognize that these schedules are ever-evolving. If needed, we will adjust camp program dates and fees and communicate any changes with you. Thanks for your patience and flexibility.
We plan to offer field trips to enrichment activities, local parks, and beaches.
All summer camp cancellations and changes must be submitted to this form by May 1 to be eligible for a full refund minus the deposit. Verbal cancellations or cancellations submitted through other channels cannot be accepted.
All deposits made during summer camp registration are non-refundable, regardless of the cancellation date. Deposits are non-transferable between programs and/or participants.
No refunds or credits will be given for absences, withdrawals, disciplinary suspensions, or removal of a camper. Failure to complete attendance requirements, including electronic forms and waivers or payment, that result in days missed from camp will not be refunded or credited.
Weekly day camp fees will not be pro-rated, refunded, or credited for missed days of camp in a week.
Exceptions to this policy may only be made in extenuating circumstances at the discretion of the organization’s leadership.
