Social Impact Center

In 2019, the Y’s Social Impact Center worked to dismantle systemic inequities by connecting kids, teens, and young adults with critical support and resources.

Empowering Young People

Supporting youth and young adults who have been impacted by systemic issues such as poverty, foster care, homelessness, racism, and the justice system.

There were 5,468 enrollments Social Impact Center programs.

of participants resided in Seattle.

of participants resided in South King County.

66%

of participants were people of color.

Individualized Support

Helping young people reach their full potential through housing and homelessness prevention, behavioral health, foster care services, and young adult services.

83%

of youth and young adults in our programs who experienced homelessness or transitioned out of foster care left our programs to safe and stable housing.

90%

of more than 400 children and youth who experienced a behavioral health crisis were stabilized and able to safely remain with their families in their homes.

new families were trained and licensed to become foster parents, a 32 percent increase of families from 2018.

people of color were served through our housing programs in 2019.
