Apollo Elementary PTA parents knew they needed to do something to get their kids moving during recess, but didn’t know how to go about it. With help from donors like you, the Y was able to provide Apollo Elementary with a solution: the YMCA playEVERYDAY program.

playEVERYDAY brings out a YMCA Play Coach to Apollo’s recess to teach kids healthy lifestyle choices, both mental and physical, through playground basics like jump rope, four square and other fun games—all while modeling good sportsmanship and enthusiasm for fun.

“The kids are learning the rules, how to solve problems and play safely,” says Kimberly, Apollo Elementary PTA Co-President. “First grade loves playEVERYDAY! Thanks for getting our kids active and healthy.”
