The Shared Homes and Young Adults in Transitions (YAIT) programs provide subsidized rent and case management support to young people as they live in one of our YMCA-owned properties. Information on all units in these programs can be accessed through King County’s Coordinated Entry for All system by calling 2-1-1.

SHARED HOMES

The Accelerator YMCA has six single-family homes across King County, providing short-term supportive housing to young adults exiting foster care and/or experiencing homelessness. While in this program, participants receive case management and support in building life skills to prepare them for moving into permanent and independent living.

YOUNG ADULTS IN TRANSITION (YAIT)

The Accelerator YMCA has 20 studio apartment-style units located at the Downtown Seattle YMCA, providing short-term supportive housing to young adults experiencing homelessness. While in this program, participants receive case management and support in building life skills to prepare them for moving into permanent and independent living.

HOST HOMES

Short-term housing for a young person at risk of or experiencing homelessness in a home of a family in the community. The program is designed to match young people with host families who will provide a safe and supportive housing environment as well as support to the young person as they work towards housing stability. A small monthly stipend is available to host families while housing a Host Home participant.

Help us end youth homelessness and become a Host Home! If you have a spare bedroom in your home, consider hosting a young adult for up to six months as they work toward becoming independent.
