We know that the time we spend with your children in our Before and After-School Programs is integral to growing their curiosity and sparking interests in new things. That's why we’re thrilled to introduce you to our new Education and Curriculum Director, Nicole Derr. Nicole’s primary role is to help us develop more robust and engaging lesson plans so that your kids learn, grow and thrive beyond the bell!

Nicole is well-known to the Y

“Nicole is well-known to the Y and respected by her peers for her positive attitude, commitment to quality and love of supporting learning for kids of all ages,” said Courtney Whitaker, Assistant Vice President of Youth Development. Before accepting this role, Nicole supported Family and Community Programs at the University Family YMCA and prior to that she was an elementary classroom teacher and supported Early Learning and School-Age Programs at Launch.

Nicole will be developing curriculum each month to support the YMCA of Greater Seattle's school-age program framework ensuring that kids have opportunities to create, explore and lead in our programs. Be on the lookout for new program schedules and displays in your program spaces that highlight what we’re doing every day.
