Happy Pride Month. Every year, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Pride Month is about celebrating the dynamic and diverse LGBTQIA+ community and remembering the grave injustices this community has endured and continues to experience.

Our theme for this month is Together With Pride, brought together by our LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Network (PRIDE) and allies in collaboration with the Equity & Justice Center of Excellence. We enter this year's PRIDE month that is full of celebrations, education, and identity affirmation. We are excited to amplify our commitment to equity and inclusion of all intersections and dimensions and to lift our LGBTQIA+ staff and community with a sense of belonging and compassion.

Staying true to our equity statement, we are calling out the onslaught of policy attacks against trans children that create barriers to their participation in youth sports. We use this moment to reaffirm our commitment to our trans kids and adults. For years, the Y has worked and will continue its work, to ensure youth sports, camps, after school programs, child care, and health centers are affirming, safe, and welcoming for all including, LGBTQIA+ kids and adults.

Please see the calendar for Pride month events as well as share our Diversity and Inclusion page with your networks along with our Pride resources.

In community and gratitude,

Loria B. Yeadon,
President & CEO, YMCA of Greater Seattle
