COVID-19: The YMCA’s Community of Fostering is still accepting applications for foster home licensing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The licensing process will include virtual interviews and a virtual home inspection. You will be able to move through the entire licensing process and obtain your foster care license during this time. Once it is safe for in-person contact to resume, your licensor will work with you to ensure you complete necessary items to maintain your license, including an in-person home inspection.
Before COVID-19, Washington State was already experiencing a shortage of foster homes and we anticipate the need will be even greater when we return to our new-normal as a community. Our program is committed to continuing to license new foster homes across our region to respond to the growing needs of children and families.
