We are well on our way to our $26 million goal for a Kent YMCA, with $21 million raised so far, including $4 million in state funding recently approved in the capital spending budget. We appreciate the continued advocacy for this project from local donors and community members.

As plans are finalized with the City, and additional funding is secured, we could begin construction as early as this summer. While we don’t yet have a building in Kent, we’re already expanding programs in South King County to meet community needs—including offering teen education and enrichment programs at three local low-income housing sites. We are grateful to our volunteers, partners, and donors for their continued efforts to make this project a reality, and to the city of Kent for their partnership.

Renderings may change throughout the Planning and construction phases.

For many years, volunteers, City staff, and Y staff have been imagining how to provide more opportunities for Kent-area residents. We’re thrilled to share some images of what the facility could look like. Y employees will be providing various programs and offerings within the park, and will also work in schools, businesses, and throughout the community, serving 11,000 people annually.
