A huge motivator in the creation of the Sammamish YMCA was our desire to work with and serve all the smart, kind and creative teens in our community. We wanted to give teens a space that felt like their own to congregate with friends, explore their interests, and develop lifelong personal and professional skills.

This is why we created the Teen Leadership Board to bring together a group of active and passionate leaders dedicated to expending service in our community. Participants in the program reflect on, learn from, and grow their personal confidence and leadership skills. It’s also an encouraging environment and platform for them to voice their opinions and ideas.

The TLB members play a huge role in carrying out community service projects and signature Sammamish Y events. They even help lead other Y teen programs!
