One of the most unique benefits the University Family YMCA offers for families is Adventure Guides, a parent-child program designed to foster companionship and strengthen the relationship between kids and their parents.

Summer camps are a great way for kids to make new friends and gain independence, but Adventure Guides allows parents to participate in the fun and grow alongside their little ones. As participants, parents and children will enjoy invaluable experiences at one of the three big campouts we host each year, day trips, pinewood derby car races, carnivals and so much more!

During the weekend campouts, you’ll stay in cabins, eat hot meals prepared by the camp and participate in classic camp activities like archery, boating, snow tubing, and a giant swing.

Getting involved is as simple as starting your own Circle of 6-10 parents and their children ages Pre-K to 3rd grade. If you’re new to the area, this can be a great way to meet new families through your work or church. And if you’re unable to start your own Circle, we’ll help you find an existing circle to join!
