Brenda has lived in Seattle since 1995. She came to Seattle to get involved with alternative healing and the art scene. Since then she has been involved in many artistic endeavors, including storytelling, music, poetry and dance. Brenda has been a  member at the University Family YMCA for over 15 years and enjoys coordinating events, helping at the front desk and watering the Y Community Garden! When asked what she loves the most she said, “I love meeting people and making connections to all the great resources and events within the community. So many differences, yet all our hearts are the same!”

Outside of the Y Brenda is a member of the non-profit International Dances of Universal Peace, a multi-faith group celebrating all religious cultures through song and movement. She has also been a member of Heartfulness Meditation since 1989.

“The Y gives me a sense of grounding and a way to weave a  greater confidence emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I then get to help others find their way too. I am grateful to the Y and look forward to helping others.”
