Hold or Cancel Your YMCA of Greater Seattle Membership

Hold or Cancel Your YMCA of Greater Seattle Membership
The YMCA of Greater Seattle does not impose annual contracts on our members. Memberships in good standing automatically renew on the same date of the month every month, establishing the membership billing cycle and unique draft date. Members are free to cancel their membership or place a membership hold at any time. Notice must be provided in writing via webform 14 days prior to the draft date. Memberships do not automatically cancel due to inactivity.

What to Expect for Fees Related to Current or Future Enrolled Programs
Members must have an active membership for the full duration of any programs or activities to receive member pricing and priority registration. Fees will be converted to non-member pricing and billed accordingly if no membership is active for the participant(s) including when a membership is cancelled or placed on hold.

Use the form below to complete one of the following:

  1. Start, Stop, or Extend a Membership Hold if you wish to pause your membership or return early from hold. Please allow 14 days for processing.
  2. Cancel Your Membership to end your autorenewal. Please allow 14 days for processing.

Membership Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your membership, written notice is required via webform 14 days prior to the next draft date to end your autorenewal. Once a 14-day cancellation is received, the membership is active and valid through your last prepaid day, the day prior to your next draft date. If you choose to rejoin the Y at a later date, you may be charged a joining fee and may need to complete a new membership application and/or scholarship request. Read the complete policy >

Start, Stop, or Extend a Hold

Membership holds are a great option to use if you plan to be out of town for an extended period of time, need to take a short break from the Y, or cannot perform physical activity due to a medical condition. Written notice is required 14 days prior to the draft date via webform to pause your full membership autorenewal.

Interested in stopping your membership hold? When you reactivate your membership, you can use member benefits including member-only rates on programs and classes. See all benefits >
