We believe our communities are stronger when everyone feels welcome and we work together for the common good. Welcoming Week, taking place September 15 - 24, 2017, celebrates the growing movement of communities that fully embrace new Americans and their contributions to the social fabric of our country.
Welcoming Week promotes cross-cultural understanding and community cohesion by bringing together immigrants and U.S.-born residents in a spirit of unity. In celebration, each of the Greater Seattle YMCA branches is celebrating Welcoming Week in its unique way with a variety of FREE events. Learn more from wall photography and maps, discover new voices at our movie and discussion nights, and meet your neighbor at a potluck or a dance class.
