Excursion - AOA: Volunteer at Food Bank

Pike Market Food Bank serves the basic food needs of the low-income families, seniors, and individuals in the Pike Place Market and downtown neighborhood. Our shift at the Food Bank will include tasks such as picking up donations around the market from various vendors, sorting through and checking incoming donations from grocery stores, helping to sort and put away produce, and/or bagging produce into distribution-friendly sizes. Volunteer time includes training and assessment of abilities to determine the tasks for the day, also based on the Food Bank's needs. The volunteer shift is 3 hours long, but we will have time to get a snack at the Market before we begin, then stay in the Market for lunch after. The program fee holds your spot and will be donated to the Food Bank. We will ride Sound Transit 522 from the Woodinville Park and Ride to Seattle, with the bus stop about .25 miles from Pike Place Market. Look for the YMCA sign at the Park and Ride to find Y staff and other participants to ride with. / Woodi
