Technique, skill development and fitness are furthered in greater detail at this level. Swim sets are more multi-faceted and independent use of the pace clock is furthered. Much of the training base is kicking, technique and gaining a solid fitness base. Greater competitive opportunities are encouraged. This group requires 3 practices per week. Swimmers in this group are able to swim legally 50 yards of the four strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle, 4 x 100 Free @ 2:30, 8 x 50 kick @ 1:40, perform a competitive start from the blocks, demonstrate legal open turns and flip turns.
