This 8-session course teaches kids water safety and basic swimming skills that help reduce the risk of drowning and builds confidence in and around water.
Kids will perform exercises to help them adjust to being in the water.
They will learn water safety fundamentals such as "Jump, Push, Turn, Grab" and "Swim, Float, Swim" which can be used if they find themselves unexpectedly in the water.
Specific safety topics will be talked about like what to do if you see someone in the water who needs help.
For Preschool age children who can swim 10 yards unassisted with their face in the water and without a flotation device. In stage 3 students learn how to swim to safety from a longer distance and also rhythmic breathing and integrated arm and leg action.
