Strength, Fitness, & Balance:
How Exercising and Strengthening Can Impact Your Numbers
Physical activity is an important component in managing your overall diabetes treatment plan. Exercise can help maintain healthy blood sugar levels, increase overall fitness and decrease the risk of long-term complications such as heart disease and stroke. A 10 to 15 pound weight loss can make a difference in decreasing overall diabetes risk factors. Beth Charvet, RPT., Overlake Outpatient Rehabilitation Services will discuss how exercising can keep your numbers in the target range, increase your strength and balance, improve your mobility and independence.
