A year long, evidenced based program that helps decrease the risk of acquiring Type 2 diabetes in those at increased risk. The program includes ongoing support with a Lifestyle Coach in a group setting, educational materials and other supportive resources. Program goals are to lose 7% of current body weight and increase physical activity to at least 150minutes per week. Achieving these goals is associated with a 58% reduction in risk for acquiring type 2 diabetes. Class meets once a week for one hour for 16 weeks, then 10 times for the next eight months. Groups range in size between 8-15 participants. Program includes an individual YMCA membership for weeks 5 to 12.

Eligibility ? BMI >25 (for Asians BMI >22) ; A1c 5.7 - 6.4 or Fasting Glucose 100-125.
