AOA Hike: Talapus & Olallie Lakes/North Bend

No driving, no car to park, no trail passes to worry about. Welcome to hiking with the Y! Both avid hikers and newcomers will have a good time getting out and meeting others on a Y hike.

For the Talapus and Olallie Lakes hike:
Distance: 6.2 miles roundtrip
Elevation: 1220 ft gain, highest point 3780 ft
Difficulty: medium

The Alpine Lakes Wilderness hosts more than 700 beautiful lakes, and Talapus Lake is one of the more accessible and commonly visited of them all. The trek to Talapus Lake is a great introduction to hiking, consisting of just more than 2 miles of wide trails and a mild grade. Olallie Lake is about one mile further.

Meet the YMCA bus in front of the Northshore YMCA at 9:15 am for 9:30 am departure. We will return to the YMCA by 3:30 pm.
Bring some spending money for a sweet treat on the way home.

Registration closes 48 hours before hike.
No refunds for cancellations within 48 hours of hike.
If the leaders see that forecasted weather will impact the hike, you will be notified of trip cancellation and given a refund/credit.
