Middle School Studen Service Groups
Middle School students in grades 6 - 8 can explore new interests and build leadership skills in a variety of Service Groups at the Sammamish Community Y.
Junior Teen Leadership Board
Members of our Junior Teen Leadership Board (TLB) learn teamwork, leadership skills, time management and the importance of service all while making new friends and building connections. The Jr. TLB meetings take place the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, from 5:00-6:00pm.
Hand-in-Hand We Code
This student led organization is dedicated to encouraging students of all ages to try coding and practice leadership skills! Middle and High school members learn and teach others languages, such as Python and Java. Elementary school members learn basic concepts through MIT's open source Scratch program. This group meets Sundays from 2:30-4:30pm.

High School Student Service Groups
We offer a service group to meet a variety of interests for High School Students in grades 9-12.
Join a dedicated group of teens and give back to others by providing afterschool enrichment programming. In the afternoons, you will help with homework, lead arts and craft activities and play games. This group meets daily afterschool at Highland Gardens.
Teen Fitness Specialist
Help other teens and community members on their healthy journeys as a Teen Fitness Specialist. You will help other people work out safely, learn more about coaching, correct work out techniques and encourage our community to live a healthy, active life! Times are flexible, and you will have the opportunity to learn in a group from our healthy living experts.
Live, grow and thrive outside!
This group focuses on getting themselves and others outside. Be a part of something that breaks down barriers to the outdoors by creating a "gear bank", planning trips for others, honing backcountry leadership skills and learn to be a good steward of the places we go. Join us as we climb, hike, and snowshoe around Washington. This group meets every first and third Friday of the month, from 4:30-5:30pm.
It takes a community to make things happen.
This student-led group of on-call Teen Volunteers supports events at the Y and in the community. Projects range from food drives, community events and everything in-between. The group meets one Monday of every other month, from 5:00-6:00pm, and as needed for volunteer projects.

We welcome middle and high school students to come learn coding with friends. Monthly, older participants also host Scratch events for elementary school kids to help spread technological literacy. Use your Creative Passion to Change the World Around You.
This year our team is focusing on mental health stigma in high school. Using social media, we’re changing the conversation about mental health! This group meets the last Monday of the month from 4:30-6:00pm.
Get Involved Today
Students explore the meaning of civics and democracy by assuming the roles of various elected officials. Develop Critical thinking, debate skills and a deeper understanding of the legislative process. This group meets the first and third Monday of the month, from 5:30-6:30pm. In addition to meeting monthly, there is also an end of the year trip to Olympia.
