Training at the YMCA is hands-on, one-on-one personal interaction, with direct instruction that focuses on achieving realistic, but challenging goals. Whether you are a professional athlete or have never exercised before, a YMCA Personal Trainer will design individualized workout sessions that cater to your current fitness level and experience.

PERSONAL WELLNESS PLAN

New memners each receive one complimntary 60 minute session with Wellness Instructor. During your session, you will have the opportunity to discuss your golas and learn all of the options that the Y offers to help you achieve them. Your session may include the following depending on your needs and experience:

  • Goal Setting
  • Introduction to staff or other members
  • Components of a healthy exercise and lifestyle program
  • Program space and equipment orientation
  • Programing that may interest you(Group Exercise, Personal Training, Pilates Reformer, Aquatics, etc)
  • Ways to include your family
  • Policies, rules and etiquette of facility

AMY MATTHIAS

Amy believes that activity is incredibly important! Movement can give you energy and relieve stress. Amy’s motto is to “Find something you enjoy, vary it here and there and just move. Push yourself but pace yourself. Smile, have fun and laugh!”

BARB SCHAAD-LAMPHERE

Barb is interested in helping people get started on their pathway to healthy living, no matter their age or current condition. She likes functional exercises, those that best mimic activities of daily life. During a mid-life career change, Barb became a Personal Trainer at age 50 and continues today, ten years later. She understands the challenges and joys of aging!

ISAAC LUTON

Isaac began weight training when he was a sophomore in high school and soon realized that exercise and fitness was his passion. As a result, he chose to make personal training and fitness his life’s work. He has adopted a lifestyle of heathy living that centers on clean living, exercise and balanced nutrition. He understands that body movement and free weight training improve flexibility, mobility, overall health and quality of life. Isaac believes that the most important part of a Personal Trainer’s job is the “personal” aspect. Isaac is a caring, genuine individual that will encourage and celebrate personal achievement.

As your personal trainer, Jacq wants to help bring movement into your life! JENNY MANDT

Jenny has been involved in Health and Wellness at the YMCA for 25 years! She has always enjoyed working one-on-one with people, especially those who may have never exercised or those who are having a hard time getting started or restarted. She loves to see them “get it” and make small steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Jenny’s philosophy is to take time to listen and her clients will tell her what they need.

With over three decades of experience in health and wellness, Kari has developed an extensive toolbox of methods and strategies to engage an exerciser at any level of wellness. Kari is continually building on her knowledge of human movement through each person she has the privilege to work with.

Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis on exercise physiology, adaptive populations and athletic training.

Megan knows that a balanced approach to a healthy lifestyle is crucial. Her goal is to help people accomplish their fitness goals but also enjoy the steps along the way. She likes to have fun with a workout but is also scientifically grounded. Her philosophy is to try to figure out what motivates and discourages. Using this knowledge, she can better encourage each client to reach goals.

Megan specializes in working with youth and those looking to be strong and fit for life. She prefers to use compound exercises where you are working more than one muscle group at a time and bodyweight exercises. Efficiency and effectiveness are the keys to success.

MOLLY GRAS-USRY

Molly appreciates when people are willing to take the steps towards a healthier lifestyle and she is honored to be a part of that. She wants to create relationships that will produce positive, lifelong results.

CANCELLATION POLICY

We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all Personal Training appointments. Failure to contact us will result in forfeiting the appointment and paid fee. Personal Training appointments are non-transferrable.

CREDIBILITY

Each of our YMCA Personal Trainers have unique and specialized education and training skills. They have acquired training, education and maintained certifications through universities and nationally recognized training programs such as ACE, ACSM and the YMCA of USA.
