From birth to graduation, the Y is here to support kids, teens, and families as they learn, grow, and thrive! We’ve got a full line-up of virtual and in-person enrichment and education activities.

Plus, new on-demand activities are added weekly into our virtual Family Room!

Family

  • Family Recreational Swim Reservation
    Up to five people in a household can reserve time in the pool for Family Recreational Swim! The pool will be divided into four quadrants and no more than 20 people will be in the pool at a time. Learn more >
     
  • Gym Time Reservation
    Up to six people from the same household can reserve half a court to play together with equipment from home or borrowed from us. All participants must be in the same household and on the same membership to use a Gym Time reservation. Reservations will be 50 minutes long. Learn more >
     
  • Net Sports Reservation
    Up to six people from different households can reserve space in the gym to play a game of badminton or pickleball. Members must be ten years old or older to participate in net sports. Children and teens under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a Supervising Adult at all times. Learn more >
     
  • Outdoor Family Climbing Reservation
    The whole family is encouraged to climb together at one of our outdoor towers! All safety gear, including helmets, is provided. YMCA climbing staff will be present for the duration of the 90 minute reservation. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult who is on the same membership and lives in the same household.   • Family Circle Time «
    Let’s read, sing, and dance! This live and interactive virtual family class will feature a story time with a book read by an engaging Y staff person plus songs, sharing, and silly dancing, all around a fun theme. This program is geared towards the early learning preschool age group, with grownups included, and is free for Y members or $5 for community. Learn more >
     
  • Family STEM Explorers «
    Get ready for some family fun designed to teach and inspire youth through hands-on activities focused on themes like science, cooking or art. This program is geared towards the early learning preschool age group, with grownups included, and is free for Y members or $5 for community. We've included supply lists with each activity so that kids and grownups can participate in real-time with us! Learn more >
     
  • Outdoor Adventure Day Trips 
    he Puget Sound is home to amazing outdoor spaces, and it’s an excellent place for single-day outdoor adventures. With a fully-stocked gear library and expert staff, we have all the equipment and expertise to take you hiking, natural rock climbing, canoeing, or kayaking — no experience necessary! Come prepared to meet new people, try different things, have fun, and challenge yourself. Learn more >
     
  • Outdoor Beginner Kids Climbing 
    This introductory series to rock climbing is perfect for kids, ages 5 to 8. They will learn about climbing safety, equipment, technique, and commands, plus knot tying. Led by our rock star staff, kids will be challenged while having a blast! Learn more >
     
  • Outdoor Family Climbing
    Take your family on a vertical adventure! This series, for kids ages 5+ with an adult, covers climbing safety, equipment, technique, commands, and knot tying plus fun games and challenges. Adults can also learn to belay. Learn more >
     
  • Family Camp 
    Starting in April, join us for a special series of Family Camps at Camp Orkila or Camp Colman featuring traditional camp activities like archery, boating, arts & crafts, hiking, outdoor environmental education, and campfires. Fees include nutritious meals and cabin lodging. Learn more > 

Infant, Toddlers & Preschool

  • Early Learning Centers
    Our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-Kindergarten care programs are enriching, positive places that nurture children to explore, discover, and learn. Programs offered in Auburn, Bothell, North Seattle, and West Seattle. 

  • Private Swim Lessons
    Join us in the pool to refine your stroke, practice your breathing rhythm, or elevate your turns! Since our instructors will be teaching from the pool edge, participants must be able to swim 25 yards on their own or a supervising adult will need to be in the pool. Learn more > 

  • Group Swim Lessons - Swim Basics Program
    Swim Basics, or stages 1 to 3, develops personal water safety and basic swimming skills in students from ages 3 to 16. Swimmers develop a high level of comfort in the water by practicing safe water habits, engaging in underwater exploration, and learning how to swim to safety and exit if they fall into a body of water.     Camp Colman and Camp Orkila have been staples of Washington for over 100 years. They offer kids and teens the chance to explore their individuality, become a part of their own community, and enjoy the classic American camp experience of archery, rock climbing, and s’mores over the campfire.   • Teen Outdoor Expeditions (BOLD & GOLD)
    Boys & Girls Outdoor Leadership (BOLD & GOLD) experiences are geared specifically for young people ages 11 to 18. Our expeditions will take you to some of the most beautiful and natural places in the Pacific Northwest. Not only are these trips full of natural beauty, but they’ll also inspire youth to be their most courageous and confident selves as they learn new skills, make lifelong friends and challenge themselves to run towards adventure. Registration is open now.     Are you ready to learn more about computer programming? Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this FREE virtual coding series, offered in partnership with UW Bothell, will help you develop your skills and increase your technological literacy through hands-on instruction in computer coding.     Play Zone connects kids virtually after school with a daily drop-in, play-based program geared towards students in kindergarten to 3rd grade that promises to engage with silly recess games and fun projects. It brings what the Y knows best about after-school child care into the home virtually to help parents bridge the gap between the end of the school day and dinner time. Learn more >

  • Youth Legislature «
    Become familiar with the legislative process, the art of debate, and public speaking, all online from home!  Alongside their peers, students will have the opportunity to study current issues, draft legislative bills, debate topics that are important to them, and assume the roles of various elected officials.  Program starts in late October and runs for 8 months.   • YMCA Earth Service Corps «
    Our planet's future depends on us. In Earth Service Corps, teens meet virtually to take on the environmental issues facing their communities, hear from guest speakers, and create projects to address these needs. Learn more >
