From birth to graduation, the Y is here to support kids, teens, and families as they learn, grow, and thrive! We’ve got a full line-up of virtual and in-person enrichment and education activities.

Plus, new on-demand activities are added weekly into our virtual Family Room! Virtual programs are designated as such.

Family

  • Family Night
    Y members can spend their evening playing together as a family! Enjoy themed nights with pirates or superheroes, play recess games, train for the Olympics, or test out your engineering skills. Learn more >

  • Family Recreational Swim Reservation
    Up to five people in a household can reserve time in the pool for Family Recreational Swim! The pool will be divided into four quadrants and no more than 20 people will be in the pool at a time. Learn more >

  • Outdoor Family Climbing Reservation
    The whole family is encouraged to climb together at one of our outdoor towers! All safety gear, including helmets, is provided. YMCA climbing staff will be present for the duration of the 90 minute reservation. Children under age 14 must be accompanied by an adult who is on the same membership and lives in the same household.   • Family Time Reservation
    Reserve time in our Kids Zone spaces to play together. Each reservation is 45 minutes long, and families must be part of the same household membership. Learn more >
     
  • Outdoor Family Climbing Classes
    Take your family on a vertical adventure! This series, for kids ages 5+ with an adult, covers climbing safety, equipment, technique, commands, and knot tying plus fun games and challenges. Adults can also learn to belay. Learn more >

Infant, Toddlers & Preschool

  • Kids Club Reservation
    Combine the well-loved aspects of Kids Zone with new safety protocols and you get Kids Club, a monthly reservation-based program that keeps kids ages 2 to 9 in stable, small groups learning and playing while you work out! Available at selection locations. Learn more >

  • Kids Create - Minis
    This art series gives kids the opportunity to express their creativity through various mediums. Drawing, painting, and craft projects encourage imaginations to flourish and inspire self-confidence and individuality. A different theme and activity is featured every week. Learn more >

  • Sports Sampler - Minis 
    Sports Sampler is the perfect introduction to team sports! Featuring a new sport each week, kids learn basic skills and components through a variety of fun drills and games while focusing on building teamwork, body control, and hand-eye coordination. Learn more >

  • Creative Movement
    Explore the world of movement, dance and music in a fun, group environment! Build a foundation for future movement-related experiences like dance and sports through the development of creativity, coordination and spatial awareness. Learn more >

  • Group Swim Lessons - Swim Basics Program
    Swim Basics, or stages 1 to 3, develops personal water safety and basic swimming skills in students from ages 3 to 16. Swimmers develop a high level of comfort in the water by practicing safe water habits, engaging in underwater exploration, and learning how to swim to safety and exit if they fall into a body of water.   • Group Swim Lessons - Swim Strokes Program
    Swim Strokes, or stages 4 to 6, builds stroke technique and additional water safety skills for students ages 5 to 16! This program focuses on introducing and refining six swim strokes: front crawl, breaststroke, back stroke, butterfly, sidestroke, and elementary backstroke.  Learn more >

  • Private Swim Lessons
    Join us in the pool to refine your stroke, practice your breathing rhythm, or elevate your turns! Since our instructors will be teaching from the pool edge, participants must be able to swim 25 yards on their own or a supervising adult will need to be in the pool. Learn more >

    Our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-Kindergarten care programs are enriching, positive places that nurture children to explore, discover, and learn. Programs offered in Auburn, Bothell, North Seattle, and West Seattle.

    Your tween will be prepared to make meals for the whole family after taking Future Chefs! Culinary skills such as dicing, sautéing, kneading, and baking are integrated into this challenging and fun cooking series.   • Kids Create

  • Ballet
    Ballet at the Y inspires a love for dance, music and movement. Students will learn the basic techniques of ballet, focusing on floor and barre work, and begin to use ballet vocabulary. Instructors encourage the awareness of movement and line and help dancers build balance, grace, poise and confidence. Learn more >
     
  • Hip Hop
    Learn basic hip-hop dance steps, rhythms and body movements! Students will express themselves through modern music in this high-energy, challenging and fun class. Instructors help dancers learn body awareness, practice coordination and footwork, and build confidence. Learn more > 
     
  • Badminton
    Kids get active and have tons of fun while learning basic Badminton swings, footwork, and rules of the game. This class also focuses on inclusion, sportsmanship, and building confidence. Racquets, nets, and shuttlecocks are provided. Learn more >
     
  • Martial Arts (Virtual & In-Person)
    Tae Kwon Do is a Korean Martial Art that uses bare feet and hands. Students learn punches, blocks and self-defense techniques, but kicks are the Tae Kwon Do trademark.   • Gaga Ball
    Get familiar with the basics of gaga ball in this introduction series! Practice the fundamentals of gaga like hitting and dodging while learning the rules of the game.     Hit the back of the net in our Futsal Skills Academy! Players sharpen techniques for dribbling and passing through practice drills and having fun.     Camp Colman and Camp Orkila have been staples of Washington for over 100 years.     Boys & Girls Outdoor Leadership (BOLD & GOLD) experiences are geared specifically for young people ages 11 to 18.   • Youth Legislature (Virtual)
    Become familiar with the legislative process, the art of debate, and public speaking, all online from home!  Alongside their peers, students will have the opportunity to study current issues, draft legislative bills, debate topics that are important to them, and assume the roles of various elected officials.  Program starts in late October and runs for 8 months.
